Job description

Staff Assistant, Corporate Communications
Department: Corporate Communications
Direct Supervisor: Coordinator, Corporate Communications
Status: Part-time
Summary:
The Corporate Communications Staff Assistant will support the organization’s communications, publicity, and media operations efforts across the entire business. Reporting to the Coordinator of Corporate Communications, the staff assistant will support publicity efforts for all Hard Rock Stadium events, including Miami Dolphins, the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, Miami Open, Orange Bowl, soccer events, concerts, community affairs, partnerships, and more.
Location:
  • This is a part-time/hourly position based on site at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL.
  • This is an in-office position with 40+ hours of work expected per week. Some night and weekend responsibilities will be required.
Responsibilities:
  • Support strategic communication plans with a clear understanding of goals, objectives and outcomes across each property and the entire enterprise.
  • Help prepare press releases, media materials, media advisories, talking points and email correspondence to promote and tell the story of the organization.
  • Collect and monitor media coverage from print, broadcast, digital, radio and social platforms to compile reports and recaps around publicity efforts.
  • Compile and distribute media clips across the business’s verticals to be shared internally.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to initiate storytelling.
  • Assist in cultivating and supporting relationships with media covering each of the organization’s verticals with a specific focus on international, non-traditional media, lifestyle and entertainment outlets.
  • Assist with securing FIA accreditation for US-based media interested in covering the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
  • Assist with organizing the communications department’s photo databases.
  • Manage the communications department’s media contact and distribution lists.
  • Support the department in pitching stories and executing coverage opportunities.
  • Assist the communications staff on-site for Dolphins home games and other stadium events, as well as across South Florida at other relevant off-field initiatives and events.
  • Transcribe executive interviews as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or related field.
  • 1-2 years of part-time or full-time experience in communications, sports, entertainment or other fast-paced related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of media landscapes as well as emerging media trends and storylines.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Must be organized, proactive, independently self-motivated and a team-player.
  • Must be able to showcase proficiency in Microsoft Office products, AP style and social media platforms.
