Job Description

The Formax Mechanical Adjuster is responsible for maintaining manufacturing operation through the performance of machine maintenance and troubleshooting; Setting up machinery with proper tooling to produce the various products; Maintaining and/or repairing machinery to good working condition for producing high quality.

Shift Q Weekend Nights:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and every other Thursday 7pm-7am

Experience you bring:

  • Must be able to complete a 6-12 month training program and successfully pass the set-up test. Failure to pass this test will result in removal from the position and being reassigned which may or may not be on your current shift.

  • No disciplinary action at a Report of Conference level or above in past 12 months

  • Ability to perform at above average productivity level as a Mfg Associate 5 while maintaining quality & safety standards established for the operation

  • Demonstrated above average mechanical ability

  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to learn department machinery and processes, and operate all machines within the department within 90 days

  • Must be able to learn and understand SPC and Problem Solving Techniques and be able to use as diagnostic tools within 30 days

  • Must have a good safety record

  • Must have good housekeeping and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently without continual supervision

You might have:

  • Electronic experience or education

  • Knowledge of/experience in pneumatics and hydraulics

  • Experience with cold forming equipment

  • Personal computer skills

Physical Requirements:

Standing and moving about for 90% of the time. Reaching, handling and fingering to fill hoppers, add material and make adjustments/repairs. Frequent lifting, moving, pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Near vision for making fine adjustments and detecting quality defects and far vision for operations of fork lift or other mobile equipment. Must have normal color vision and normal depth perception capability. Climbing (ladders to fill hoppers), stooping, bending and kneeling (making adjustments, checking quality, etc.).

Mental Requirements:

Reading and attention to detail required. Basic math required to read blueprints and working on lathe. High attentiveness for safety and detection of problems. Reading and math comprehension to understand and interpret quality information (SPC, charts, graphs, etc.), and to complete production reporting. Interpersonal communication skills to problem-solve and to function effectively as part of a work team. Flexibility to move between jobs and to handle many tasks simultaneously.

Equipment Used: Operation of hand tools, forklift and other mobile equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

All positions require the use of safety glasses with side shields, and hearing protection (hearing protection and non-prescription safety glasses are provided). Some positions require the use of hard-toed safety shoes (partial reimbursement provided).

Working Environment:

Manufacturing floor environment is subject to constant exposure to noise, vibration, moving objects and mechanical equipment hazards. Exposure to a wide variety of chemicals possible depending on assigned area. Work is most often done with and around others and as part of work teams and back-up from co-workers or supervisor is generally available.

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

$34.59 - $38.58

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
