Job description

Beck Construction & Excavation is looking for an experienced Concrete Form Setter to join our concrete crew. This position is ideal for someone who can independently set accurate forms, understand grade and slope, and help prepare projects for successful concrete pours.
We complete primarily municipal and public infrastructure projects throughout the Wasatch Front, with work extending across Utah as projects require. Our concrete work includes sidewalks, curb and gutter, ADA ramps, roadway improvements, pads, box culverts, manholes, utility structures, and other concrete work associated with excavation and underground utility projects.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in precise, quality work and understands that accurate layout and formwork are critical to the finished product.

What You’ll Do:
  • Read plans, grade stakes, elevations, and layout information.
  • Set, align, brace, and strip forms for sidewalks, curb and gutter, ADA ramps, pads, roadway concrete, utility structures, and other concrete work.
  • Verify dimensions, elevations, slopes, drainage, and alignment before concrete placement.
  • Use string lines, lasers, levels, and other layout tools to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare subgrade and base materials as needed before forms are installed.
  • Coordinate with the foreman and crew to prepare projects for concrete pours.
  • Assist with placing and finishing concrete when needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Support other excavation, utility, and field work when concrete work is not scheduled.

What We’re Looking For:
  • At least 2–3 years of hands-on concrete form-setting experience.
  • Ability to set forms and follow grade with limited supervision.
  • Experience with sidewalks, curb and gutter, ADA ramps, slabs, pads, or similar concrete work.
  • Ability to read measurements, elevations, plans, and grade stakes.
  • Knowledge of proper slope, drainage, alignment, and concrete preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation preferred.

What We Offer:
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience, skill level, and ability.
  • Year-round work on municipal and commercial projects.
  • Medical benefits.
  • Retirement plan.
  • Paid holidays and paid time off.
  • Opportunities for overtime.
  • Opportunities to expand your skills and advance into Lead or Foreman roles.

If you are an experienced form setter who takes pride in accuracy, understands grade, and wants to be part of a crew that values quality work, we would like to talk with you.
