Job description

Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Forge Press Operator for our operation in Lima, OH. The Forge Press Operator is a member of our Forging Department responsible to operate forge press & manipulators, i.e. equipment setup and movement of ingots/forgings.
Competitive wages starting at $24.20/hr with the opportunity for higher compensation based on experience and skills. Benefit/insurance package, 8 paid holidays, 401K, PTO, Vacation, Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS, and this position is eligible for the Production Incentive Program.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining all equipment needed for forging operation.
  • Operating press & manipulators, remote crane, and forge furnaces.
  • Review and verify forging assignment, ingots scheduled to strip, and movements of ingots/forgings between furnace and forge press.
  • Maintaining the start up and shut down of the forge press and manipulators.
  • Making forging sticks and hot cutting forgings.
  • Reporting all deviations from productions specifications, equipment problems, and issues.
  • Perform other department duties, as assigned

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
  • Must be capable of lifting 60-80lbs occasionally throughout shift
  • Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
  • Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous foundry experience prefer
  • Must be able to read/interpret blueprints and tape measure/ruler
  • Good math skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Classification: Hourly
