JOBย SUMMARY:ย ย 

To guard and protect the guests that use theย Forestย Home pools and lake facilities.ย To maintain cleanliness and safety of all aquatics facilities and to provide excellent customer serviceย in order toย create a fun, welcomingย Christ centered environment.ย 

JOB DETAILS:

We are currently hiringย and scheduling shifts for this role. ย No experience is needed and we start hiring at 16 years old. Forestย Home will provide all training, including CPR training, as well as pay for all certification fees. Start Dates and End dates are both flexible. ย Our Recreation options are open year round. ย During Summer, we have lifeguard shiftsย available from 9am to 11pm daily. ย Starting in October, we close our aquatic options, but lifeguards are able to work weekends inย our other recreation areas. ย Starting Pay is $14 an hour. ย Flexibility for school schedules as well as summer vacations. ย Once you apply, your application will be reviewed in 48 hours and we will email you with next steps.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:ย ย 

  • Perform lifeguard duties in aquatics programs as assigned, which include a lake front andย serveralย swimming poolsย 
  • Obtains and maintains Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR and AED certificationsย ย 
  • Reaches and maintains a level of physical fitness that meets or exceeds the American Red Cross standard for lifeguards (500 meter swim, 10 foot dive and swim with brick, tread water for 3 minutes)ย ย 
  • Supports and upholds Recreation safety plans and proceduresย 
  • Assures equipment is inspected and maintainedย 
  • Provide excellent and Christ like service to guests and fellow staffย 
  • Performs other duties as assignedย 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEย REQUIRED:ย ย ย 

  • Currentย American Red Crossย CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, andย AEDย ย certification, or be willing andย ย psychicallyย able to be certifiedย 
  • Working towards High School diploma or equivalentย 
  • Prior lifeguardย experienceย preferredย ย 
  • Preferredย experience in job or ministry that requires guest interaction and service with people of all ages.ย ย ย

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate office machines. Requires mild physical work; some lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 20ย pounds.ย Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.ย 

  • Reaches and maintains a level of physical fitness that meets or exceeds the American Red Cross standard for lifeguards (500 meter swim, 10 foot dive and swim with brick, tread water for 3 minutes)ย 
  • Must be comfortable with spending extended periods of time in the sun and periodically entering cold bodies of water.ย ย ย 
  • Requires walking, swimming, and standing for 6-8 hours a dayย 
  • Must be able to complete all in-service trainings which will include physical exercise of varying degreeย
