Responsibilities
 
What you'll do
  • Maintains trees along public streets and on public grounds that may be performed under adverse weather conditions.
  • Performs a variety of tasks incidental to the care and maintenance of trees on city streets and grounds.
  • Follows proper safety practices to protect themselves, other employees, and the public.
  • Participates in the pruning, removing, cleanup of tree brush and wood, planting, and care of trees on city grounds.
  • Receives assignments written, verbally, or electronically in the form of work orders and follows detailed instructions regarding the work to be performed.
  • Performs work that is inspected during the process and subject to final review for conformance with instructions by a supervisor.
Qualifications
 
REQUIRES
  • High school graduation OR 6 months of experience in general labor.
  • May be required to possess a valid state-issued drivers license in accordance with City of KCMO policies.
  • If moving from a non-safety-sensitive position, must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
