- Conduct specialized risk assessments, including violence, sexual violence, suicide, and other emerging areas of risk assessment.
- Provide clinical consultation to treatment teams regarding complex clinical presentations and challenging behaviors, including aggression, self-harm, emotional dysregulation, and behaviors that may interfere with treatment or safe discharge planning.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to doctoral psychology interns and graduate students.
- Contribute to the educational mission of the hospital through case discussions, clinical presentations, interdisciplinary teaching, and other educational activities.
- Participate in educational activities led by colleagues and contribute to a culture of interdisciplinary learning and professional development.
- Participate in or develop research and quality-improvement projects related to inpatient psychiatry, psychological assessment, risk assessment, and evidence-based clinical practice.
- Complete timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plan objectives and interventions, assessment reports, and other required documentation.
- Adhere to New Hampshire Hospital's core values of integrity, collaboration, person-centeredness, compassion, and excellence.

We provide acute, inpatient psychiatric services for adults and the elderly who need active treatment and other essential supports within a continuum of community-based care. Approximately 600 staff include board certified psychiatrists, general medical services, specialized nursing, allied clinical, administrative and support personnel. To meet our patient's needs, our goal is to provide for smooth access to services; safety, sensitivity, and compassion in daily care; skill and attentiveness from physicians/residents and nurses; timely, helpful therapies; accommodation of family needs and visits; a clean, restful environment; adequate food and nutrition; timely, clear aftercare planning; and our patients to have an overall feeling of improvement on discharge. This represents a standard of care we would want for our loved ones and ourselves should we be in need of such services.
