Forensics and Biometrics Standards SME
The Opportunity:
Provide technical, operational, and standards-focused expertise. This role supports the full lifecycle of forensic and biometric standards development, conformance testing, enterprise coordination, and participation in national and international standards bodies. The ideal candidate applies deep knowledge of national and international standards organizations, federal biometric and forensic enterprise functions, and software integration skills to advance the mission. Assist with development, maintenance, collaboration, and formal adoption of forensic and biometric standards, lexicons, dictionaries, schemas, specifications, and database updates throughout the standards lifecycle process. Coordinate standardization activities across DOW agencies and external organizations. Support and conduct technical working group meetings focused on biometric and forensic standardization topics. Develop technical contributions for national and international Standards Development Organizations and represent DOW equities. Maintain and enhance conformance solution test tools and GOTS tool integration; assist in conformance testing for biometric collection devices and prepare solution test reports. Participate in national and international standards engagements.
You Have:
  • 4+ years of experience supporting forensic or biometrics enterprises
  • Knowledge of Standards Development Organizations processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of the DOW forensic or biometric enterprise and its support to military operations and intergovernmental data exchange
  • Knowledge of the Joint Enterprise Standards Committee and DOW formal standards adoption processes
  • Ability to design and develop enterprise standards, schemas, and Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) using modern tools and technologies, such as XML or JSON
  • Ability to facilitate internal meetings, organize content, and draft presentations with minimal guidance
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in software development or software engineering, especially in contexts involving schema development, standards encoding, tool maintenance, or system integration

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
