This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland.

Qualifications:WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications: Education (You must submit transcripts)

Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
  • Leading workplace substance misuse prevention, employee assistance, or drug-free workplace programs.
  • Managing employee drug testing programs, laboratory certification activities, toxicology programs, or related regulatory and quality assurance functions.
  • Conducting program evaluation, research, and dissemination of evidence-based practices in public health or workplace prevention programs.
  • Developing policies, technical guidance, and strategic recommendations, and representing an organization before senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Supervising staff, managing resources, and coordinating initiatives with Federal, state, local, or private-sector partners.
