WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The primary purpose of this position is to:

• Assist in developing and implementing training for Alaskan law enforcement on crimes related to domestic violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, stalking and sex trafficking.
• Assist in providing technical assistance to law enforcement and multidisciplinary team (MDT) partners statewide.
• Assist with the development of online training materials and courses for law enforcement on DVSA related topics; ensure all training records are maintained.
• Assist in supporting special projects by providing organizational administrative support and maintaining required records; assist with ensuring that departmental policies and procedures are reviewed, updated and adhered to.
• Assist with the reimbursement of forensic exams for municipal agencies; assist with procurement of equipment and training supplies.
• Represent the department in various capacities; provide overall organizational support to the DVSA unit; and provide basic level training depending on current expertise which may include travel.

THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT:
This position is located at the Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory (Crime Lab), 4805 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, in Anchorage, nestled at the foot of the beautiful Chugach Mountains. The daily work environment consists of a small team of task-driven individuals. The incumbent will work closely with team members to support the mission. Travel may be required to fulfill job duties. Work outside of normal business hours may be needed on occasion.
