Job description

Work Schedule: Tues - Sat, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour 

Department: Accessioning/Data Entry/Aliquoting

This role is responsible for performing a variety of processes in the wet chemistry departments of the laboratory. Your primary responsibility will be Data Entry (entering demographic information into our LIMS, ordering testing, and preparing initial qualitative aliquots) but you may be cross trained to other areas in the lab.

This position earns an hourly wage. In addition to that, we have full medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as competitive 401k (up to 4% match) and PTO programs (15+ days/year).

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs tasks that result in the accurate and timely determination of drugs and chemicals in specimens.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Quantitatively aliquots blood and urine specimens for testing

2. Quantitatively aliquots controls and standards for use during testing

3. Understands the principles of and competently performs liquid-liquid, solid-phase, and protein precipitation extractions on specimens

4. Performs proper disposal of specimens

5. Performs data entry of casework

6. Participates in improvement of analytical methodologies

7. Follows established standard operating procedures, laboratory and chemical safety procedures, and documentation procedures.

8. Completes assignments based on priorities and deadlines

9. Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance and internal/external clients and takes appropriate action

10. Continually looks for ways to improve and promote quality

11. Other duties or tasks assigned by designated personnel

1. Knowledge of basic chemistry principles, concepts, and methodology.

8. Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Database software, and all Microsoft Office Suite products.
