Job description

The Company
Versaterm is a PE-backed, high-growth SaaS company building a fully integrated platform across the entire public safety ecosystem - dispatch, law enforcement, forensics, courts, and beyond. We've grown through strategic acquisitions and deep product investment. What connects all of it is a single purpose: give public safety agencies the tools and insights to make better decisions in high-stakes moments.
When a dispatcher takes a 911 call, a detective works a case, or a lab processes evidence, there's a good chance our software is running in the background. That's been true for over four decades.
AI is central to where we're going. Not as a feature but as core infrastructure. We're embedding intelligence directly into the workflows our customers rely on every day, and we're doing it alongside them. Our customers tell us what the mission demands. We build what answers it.
This work attracts a specific kind of person - someone who wants to be pushed by great people, build things that outlast a sprint cycle, and go home knowing the work connected back to something real.
The Role
The Senior Manager, Deployments leads Versaterm's deployment and data migration & integration functions, overseeing a team of managers and specialists responsible for delivering, installing, configuring, and maintaining the Versaterm software suite across Public Safety customer environments.
This role is accountable for team performance, deployment quality, and operational efficiency-ensuring consistent execution against delivery commitments while developing the team's technical capability, and leveraging modern automation and emerging tools to continuously optimize deployment processes, improve efficiency, and enhance overall delivery quality. Operating across both technical delivery and people leadership, this role sets the standard for deployment methodology, cross-team execution, and operational scalability. The Senior Manager works closely with the Director, Deployments to align capacity, resource strategy, and delivery performance with organizational goals.
What You Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Deployment Specialists as well as Managers, providing clear direction, regular feedback, and performance management aligned with Versaterm's people leadership standards.
  • Own delivery standards across numerous teams, including tooling, documentation practices, and quality benchmarks for various solutions across various architectures.
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and capacity planning across Deployment and Data Migration & Integration to ensure delivery commitments are met without risk to team sustainability.
  • Drive continuous improvement across delivery processes, identifying systemic inefficiencies and implementing changes that reduce time-to-deploy and improve client outcomes.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex deployment and integration issues, coordinating cross-functional resolution with Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams.
  • Contribute to hiring decisions, onboarding frameworks, and development planning for both teams, ensuring technical and professional growth pathways are clearly defined.
  • Represent both functions in planning cycles, providing delivery forecasts, headcount needs, and operational risk assessments to the Director, Deployments.
  • Ensure all team members operating in regulated environments are in compliance with security clearance requirements and applicable data handling standards.
  • Support pre-sales and scoping conversations where deployment or integration complexity requires senior technical input.

What You Bring
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field; or equivalent experience.
  • 8-12 years of experience in technical delivery, deployment, or systems implementation, with 3-5 years in a people management role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing managers or leading multi-team functions in a software delivery or professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with data migration and system integration practices in enterprise or SaaS contexts.
  • Strong technical proficiency across multiple environments, including Linux, AWS, and Azure, along with scripting and database deployment experience, enabling effective assessment of team capacity, support of escalations, and informed evaluation of technical decisions.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain high-performing teams through clear goal-setting, coaching, and performance management.
  • Familiarity with public safety software or mission-critical enterprise software environments is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical, project, and leadership audiences.
  • Experience using AI tools as part of daily support workflows to enhance productivity, improve response quality, and support continuous learning.
  • Ability to obtain applicable security clearances.

Note: Due to the nature of our work with public safety agencies, this position requires compliance with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive, fingerprint-based background check. Please note that specific customer contracts may impose additional security verification requirements. Obtaining and maintaining all required security clearances is a condition of employment. For more information on CJIS security requirements, please visit the FBI's CJIS Security Policy Resource Center.
