DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team in Plainville, MA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Typical responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities: - Drafting and Filing: Prepare, draft, and file pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other litigation documents.
- Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, manage deadlines, and ensure compliance with court schedules.
- Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witness materials.
- Document Review: Analyze and summarize depositions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel professionally and effectively.
- Research: Conduct legal research on laws, regulations, and precedents relevant to ongoing cases.
- Real Estate title: Review of title searches and ability to identify minor title issues.
Position RequirementsQualifications: - Education: Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience in litigation, foreclosure, and/or real estate title work required.
- Skills: Proficiency in legal research, strong written and verbal communication skills, and familiarity with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attributes: Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Compensation Details: $23.00-$35.00/hr.
The compensation amount is not guaranteed. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate. This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications.
Benefits Details :Brock & Scott, PLLC offers an attractive benefit package to full-time employees on the first day of the following month of hire. The insurance portion includes medical, dental, voluntary life, voluntary vision, and critical illness, all at competitive rates. The Firm also provides a basic life insurance policy in the amount of one time your annual salary (with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $200,000.00) at no cost.
Full-time employees receive paid holidays and accrue paid time off equal to 2 weeks during a full calendar year.This increases after 2 years, and again after 5 years of employment. After 6 months of employment, employees over the age of 21 become eligible to enroll in our 401k plan.
