Job Description

The Associate Director, Pipeline Forecasting, Oncology is responsible for developing commercial forecasts for pipeline compounds and on-market product lifecycle projects. This role also leads and/or coordinates forecasting and commercial analytics activities supporting strategic commercial development initiatives.

The position works closely with Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, Finance, Operations, and senior leadership, and reports to the Director, Global Pipeline, Forecasting, Oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Global Commercial Leads and Pipeline Commercial Leads to provide a data-driven perspective on asset value across therapeutic areas.
  • Lead and coordinate forecasting efforts for assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Plan and support market insights activities to inform forecasting, in collaboration with Marketing Analytics.
  • Develop and maintain forecast models to support long-range planning, milestone decisions, strategic planning, and business development opportunities.
  • Lead the design and implementation of model enhancements and new forecasting approaches as needed.
  • Provide real-time decision support through close collaboration with PCS stakeholders and cross-functional partners across AbbVie, including:
    • US Commercial and Finance
    • R&D
    • Decision Sciences
    • Marketing Analytics & Business Insights
    • HEOR
    • Global Epidemiology
    • Global and US Market Access and Pricing
    • Regulatory
    • Medical
    • Global Marketing & Commercial Operations
    • Area and Affiliate Commercial organizations
  • Champion the PCS mission and vision, as well as AbbVie Leadership Attributes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or business required.
  • MBA or advanced STEM degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant forecasting, market analytics, or finance experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences consulting industries.
  • Experience providing marketing analytics and forecasting analyses for specialized therapeutic areas.
  • Experience building forecast models and conducting analyses to support decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating and communicating primary and secondary data for strategic decision support.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making in cross-functional and cross-cultural environments.
  • Self-motivated, with experience managing multiple projects across teams while delivering results on time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
