Location: Henry Ford Health Detroit Main Campus
Status: 36-Hours | Rotating Shifts
Schedule: Primary 7a-7p, will consider 24 hours.
Setting: 100% Inpatient
Call/Weekends: Weekends, generally on average every 3rd. No Call.
Position Overview:
Henry Ford Health System is seeking a full-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) for a 36-hour position in Detroit, open to experienced candidates as well as new graduates or those graduating within 6 months. The role involves direct patient management in collaboration with attending neonatologists, along with a strong focus on professional growth, divisional engagement, and quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include comprehensive neonatal care while contributing to team-based practice and ongoing advancement within the division.
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate and treat work-related injuries and illnesses
• Manage bloodborne pathogen exposures and vaccination programs
• Perform medical surveillance and respirator fit testing
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and CDC guidelines

Qualifications:
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, licensed in State of Michigan.
  • Certified by NCC
  • Previous experience in Neonatal Care, will consider graduate NNPs
  • Physician Assistant, if experienced and certified as Neonatal
  • National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)
  • BLS required (or obtained after hire)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certified, instructor

Education & Training
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP): Completion of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program (CCNE or NLNAC)
Licensure
Current licensure as a Certified Nurse-Midwife, in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required)
Certification
NNP: Certification by the National Certification Corporation (NCC)
Required Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - required

DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure
  • PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
  • NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
