POSITION DESCRIPTION

Seasonal Valet Parker

Department:

Guest Services - Valet

Director of Front Office Operations

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional; strengths in service, thorough knowledge of the guest's experience, and exceptional Beyond Compare service attitude for the position of Valet Parker at the Boston Harbor Hotel, Boston's only Forbes Five-Star waterfront hotel. This position is responsible for assisting each guest and outlet patron with Valet parking, and direction for self-parking. 

Seasonal Position May-September

CANDIDATE PROFILE

License Requirement:

Required to have and maintain a valid state driver's license with a current address and an acceptable driving record. Ability to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission is preferred. 

Experience:

Must have at least (1) or more years of experience, with a combination of previous Guest Services experience preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

The primary responsibilities for the Valet Parker include but are not limited to:

  • Inspect each vehicle before taking possession and mark tickets of findings, inform customers of valet rate.
  • Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Manager.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the hotel to be able to provide guest and patrons directions to various locations in the area, if needed.
  • Observe all traffic laws and safe driving practices.
  • Ensure prompt professional response to all guest requests for service.
  • Assist and relieve door staff and bell staff as requested and directed.
  • Open the door for all guests and patrons entering and exiting the hotel.
  • Maintaining the lobby entrance vestibule including cleaning, vacuuming, etc. as needed.
  • Acknowledge any approaching guest warmly and assist however needed.
  • Perform in a standard as well as an automatic automobile.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area.
  • Complete all other assignments, duties and tasks as assigned by the Concierge and Director of Guest Services.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to performance of key responsibilities, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences: 

  • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with a team. 
  • Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing. A second language is desirable. 
  • Must be familiar with the local area.
