Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of Birthing Center experience and an active Michigan RN license.

Details
  • Work in a Birth Center featuring 11 LDRP rooms, 3 triage rooms, and 1 OR
  • Care for laboring patients, deliveries, and postpartum moms and babies
  • RN to patient ratio of 1:1 for active labor, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin induction of labor
  • RN to patient ratio of 1:3 for couplets and 1:2 for early labor patients
  • Uses Cerner EMR system
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 12-hour shifts with rotating holidays and weekends
  • Possible on-call requirements
Requirements
  • Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
  • Active AHA BLS certification required
  • Current NRP certification preferred, willingness to obtain required if not currently held
  • Minimum 2 years of current Birthing Center experience required
  • Experience with laboring patients, newborn care at delivery, and postpartum care for moms and babies required
  • Current skills checklist (within 1 year) pertinent to the specialty required
  • Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Provide professional nursing care using critical thinking and independent judgment through all phases of the nursing process
  • Direct and supervise the patient care team, including CNAs, LPNs, and other techs
  • Collaborate with team members and other disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Document patient care, condition, and response to treatment in a timely manner
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
  • Must have own vehicle for this assignment
  • Requested time off must be submitted and verified prior to consideration, with no more than 5 days accepted
  • Time off requests made after offer or during interview will not be approved
