About the Role:

TOMS is seeking a highly creative and entrepreneurial Sr. Footwear Designer - Women’s to create innovative, unique footwear styles and color ways that reflect the TOMS aesthetic while bringing innovation and moving the business forward in a trend-relevant manner. An understanding of the current and future TOMS consumer is essential.

The ideal candidate, with the Sr. Creative Director, will actively collaborate, lead, mentor and inspire team members on seasonal trends, silhouettes, materializations, and color palettes and bring collaborative results with the Product Managers and Product Developers, in creating the Women’s inline footwear collection. Partnership, clear communication, and collaboration across key functions will be essential for this role.

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • Creating concepts, sketches, and color CADs for the inline Women’s footwear collection. Design/Engineer product that remains true to TOMS brand identity. Innovate and design with target price point, margins and consumer in mind.

  • Creating Tech Packs - create technical specifications for uppers, outsole and trims. Modify pullovers, outsoles and trims through the development stage, in collaboration with Product Developers. Create Samples Requests for each milestone and project. Provide strong knowledge and understanding on product creation, constructions and commercialization .

  • Researching Trends- provide strong knowledge of trends in footwear. Maintain knowledge of global product design, fashion market trends, technology, and graphics - particularly in lifestyle markets and brands. Research trends in the marketplace globally and create trend boards in tandem with the entire Design team for the two selling seasons. Present trends with the Design team to the larger organization.

  • Color and materials – provide strong knowledge of colors and materials in footwear. Contribute to select materials and colors.

  • Presenting collections and reports– present designs from sketches to pullovers to the Product Manager and Merchandise teams. Present to and collaborate with external Licensing Partnerships teams of Merchandisers and Marketing to ensure fulfillment of brand requirements, managing the designs from conception to approval.

  • Market Shop– research market relevant brands at retail and Ecommerce platforms and share insights with the Product team.

  • View the collection as a whole and work with Sr. Creative Director to prepare for key milestones to show creative vision for collection.

What You Bring:

  •  5+ years’ experience with Adobe suite: Illustrator, Photoshop.

  • 5+ years’ experience hand sketching skills- footwear specific.

  • A portfolio of work samples along with your application.

  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while adapting to changing demands and priorities. 

  • A degree in Industrial/Product/Fashion is strongly desired.

  • This is a Direct Hire role with a target annual salary range of $110,000 - $120,000, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus based on the company's performance
