Summary


This position will focus on and provide professional shoe fitting solutions for inpatient and ambulatory patients. Duties include evaluating patientโ€™s physical disabilities, disease or deformity to ensure the proper footwear is ordered. This is an individual position working on a variety of cases with minimal supervision. This position requires innovation and creativity in solving issues.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients with physical disabilities, disease and deformity for appropriate footwear solutions.
  • Consults with medical providers and therapists to understand the best footwear options for the patient.
  • Measure patientโ€™s feet to ensure the correct footwear is ordered.
  • Work with shoe manufacturer to order best footwear option.
    • Takes appropriate measurements.
    • Performs fitting and delivery of shoes to patients.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to obtain a shoe fitter certification.
  • Candidates with a background as a Certified Shoe Fitter, Pedorthist, or Podiatrist (DPM) will be considered, provided they meet the required certification and qualification requirements for the role.
  • Knowledge and ability to assist in evaluation of foot needs in a diverse population.
  • Strong interpersonal skills withinย diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of disabilities and diseases related to pedorthist.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and participate in a team approach.
