Project: PSG Data Center Construction
Employment Type: Full-time Contract (Project-based, with long-term career pathway)
Reports To: Project Manager
Location: Lordstown, OH
Start Date: July 15, 2026
1. Overview

PSG is a fast-growing construction and infrastructure firm specializing in mission-critical environments. We are seeking a detail-oriented, technically proficient Quality Control (QC) Lead to join our team on a high-profile data center construction project in Lordstown, Ohio. This role is responsible for ensuring all construction activities, materials, and installations meet or exceed project specifications, codes, and client quality standards.
This role will initially support a 6-month data center construction project based in Lordstown, with a strong pipeline of follow-on projects nationwide. This is not a short-term assignment — upon successful completion of the first project, you will transition directly to subsequent projects, offering long-term career stability and growth. The successful candidate will be a quality champion who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, balancing rigorous field inspections with meticulous documentation and reporting.
2. Duties

  • Develop, implement, and manage the project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in accordance with contract documents, codes, and industry standards.
  • Conduct daily field inspections of all construction scopes, including civil/structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations, to verify compliance with drawings, specs, and approved submittals.
  • Perform material receiving inspections to verify grades, certifications, dimensions, and physical condition; reject non-conforming materials and coordinate replacements.
  • Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process – identify, document, track, and verify closure of all quality issues with corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and witness third-party testing (soil compaction, concrete cylinder breaks, structural steel bolting/welding, fireproofing, electrical testing, etc.).
  • Review and maintain quality documentation, including daily inspection logs, test reports, material certifications, as-built drawings, and turnover packages.
  • Lead QC pre-construction meetings with subcontractors to align quality expectations, review ITPs, and address potential quality risks.
  • Collaborate closely with project engineers, superintendents, and subcontractor foremen to resolve quality issues in real-time without delaying production.
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings and provide quality status updates, metrics, and trend analysis to project management.
  • Prepare final quality close-out documentation for client handover, including O&M manuals, warranties, and system test records.
  • Champion a "build it right the first time" culture through coaching, mentoring, and positive reinforcement of quality standards.
3. Must-Haves as the QC Lead

  • Minimum 4 years of construction quality control experience, with at least 2 years in a lead/supervisory role on industrial, infrastructure, or commercial building projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AWS, ASTM, NFPA, NEC) and ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications.
  • Proven experience developing and executing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Excellent documentation and report-writing skills – ability to maintain accurate, detailed, and audit-ready records.
  • Proficiency using digital QC management tools (e.g., Procore, BIM 360, or similar) and ERP systems for logging inspections and generating reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to enforce quality standards firmly yet professionally with subcontractors and craft workers.
  • Physically fit to walk the job site, climb ladders/stairs, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking) – essential for contract documents, code interpretation, and client communication.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours – prepared to work overtime, weekends, and shifts as required by project milestones.
4. Nice-to-Haves as the QC Lead

  • Previous experience working on hyperscale data center, semiconductor cleanroom, or mission-critical facilities, with complex MEP and backup power systems (UPS, generators, switchgear).
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) .
  • NICET certification in electrical or fire alarm systems.
  • ACI Field Testing Technician certification (concrete).
  • Familiarity with LEED or sustainability quality requirements.
  • Mandarin Chinese language skills are a plus for coordinating with diverse teams and reviewing international specifications.
5. Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid time off and holiday pay.
  • Opportunities for career advancement through a strong pipeline of nationwide projects – this role is a gateway to long-term employment with PSG.
  • Per diem or relocation assistance available for qualified candidates (subject to policy).
6. Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of total construction quality control experience.
  • At least 2 years in a lead/supervisory QC role on medium-to-large projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with structural, MEP, and finishes inspections on industrial or commercial sites.
7. License/Certification

  • Preferred: CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), CQM (Certified Quality Manager), ASQ CQE, or NICET certification.
  • Preferred: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification or willingness to obtain one.
8. Ability to Relocate

  • Must be able to relocate to Lordstown, OH or currently reside within a commutable distance.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate to subsequent project sites nationwide upon completion of the Lordstown project (expenses covered by company).
