Middle School Football Coach Position
Position: Middle School Football Coach
Employment Type: Coaching Stipend Position
Bland County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Middle School Football Coach. The successful candidate will provide leadership, instruction, and mentorship to student-athletes while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and academic responsibility.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement football practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and player safety.
  • Teach fundamentals of football, including offensive and defensive concepts, conditioning, and proper techniques.
  • Create a positive and supportive team environment that encourages student growth and character development.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.
  • Promote sportsmanship, respect, accountability, and commitment among players.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school staff, and administration.
  • Follow all school division policies, athletic guidelines, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of current coaching techniques, rules, and best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Previous football coaching experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of football fundamentals and player development.
  • Ability to work effectively with middle school-aged students.
  • Commitment to student-athlete success both on and off the field.
  • Must meet all school division and VHSL coaching requirements (if applicable).
  • Must complete required background checks and training.
