A football game is a competitive match played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, who try to score points by advancing a ball into the opposing team's goal area. The game is played on a rectangular field with specific rules and regulations, depending on whether it's American football, association football (soccer), or another variant. Football games are popular worldwide and can be played professionally, in amateur leagues, or casually. They are governed by organizations such as FIFA (for soccer) or the NFL (for American football).
