The Orlando Pirates are a professional football team that competes in the Indoor Football League. Going into our 9th year as an organization, the Orlando Pirates have made multiple title game appearances and won the IFL Championship in 2021. The Orlando Pirates play during the spring/summer and are looking to add Digital Marketing & Analytics Interns in our quest for another championship.
Position Overview
The Orlando Pirates are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and digitally minded Digital Marketing & Analytics Intern to support the team's marketing efforts throughout the season. This position provides hands-on experience in professional sports marketing, with a focus on digital campaigns, website performance, social media analytics, fan engagement, and marketing data.
The Digital Marketing & Analytics Intern will work closely with the marketing team to help track and evaluate the performance of the Pirates' digital platforms and campaigns. This role will assist in turning data into actionable insights that can help grow the team's audience, improve fan engagement, increase website traffic, support ticket and promotional campaigns, and strengthen the Orlando Pirates brand.
This internship is ideal for someone interested in the intersection of sports, marketing, technology, and data. Candidates should be curious, analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while balancing both creative marketing initiatives and performance reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the execution and tracking of digital marketing campaigns across social media, email, website, and other digital platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze website traffic, audience behavior, campaign performance, and digital engagement.
  • Track social media performance across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and YouTube.
  • Develop weekly and monthly reports highlighting key performance indicators, trends, growth, and campaign results.
  • Help identify opportunities to increase website traffic, social media engagement, ticket interest, and overall digital reach.
  • Assist with website updates, landing pages, promotional campaigns, and digital content as needed.
  • Support email marketing initiatives, including campaign development, audience segmentation, scheduling, and performance tracking.
  • Assist with basic search engine optimization (SEO) efforts to improve the team's visibility across search engines.
  • Support paid digital advertising campaigns across platforms such as Meta and Google, including campaign setup, tracking, reporting, and optimization.
  • Track campaign links and conversions using tools such as UTM parameters and digital analytics platforms.
  • Analyze fan and audience data to identify trends and provide insights that can support future marketing decisions.
  • Monitor digital trends, platform updates, and emerging marketing strategies that may benefit the Orlando Pirates.
  • Collaborate with the social media, graphic design, video, photography, ticketing, and marketing teams to support campaigns and promotions.
  • Assist with additional marketing projects, game-day initiatives, and team events throughout the season.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, Communications, Advertising, Data Analytics, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in digital marketing, analytics, social media, and/or sports marketing.
  • Basic knowledge of digital analytics and reporting; experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Google Search Console, or similar digital marketing platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, or similar programs is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of SEO, website analytics, digital advertising, and conversion tracking is preferred.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and data using Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to interpret data and communicate key findings in a clear and useful way.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be proactive, curious, and willing to bring new ideas and recommendations to the marketing team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Maintain a professional and positive representation of the organization when interacting with players, coaches, sponsors, partners, and fans.
  • Must be willing and able to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team schedule.
  • Must possess reliable transportation to and from games, team events, and other in-person responsibilities as needed.
