Why this job matters
As the Supervisor in Timbers Café, you're not just keeping things running, you're leading the way in creating a welcoming, upbeat dining experience for our guests. You'll guide and support the café team during your shift, making sure our service standards are upheld, operations flow smoothly and every guest departs feeling valued and cared about.
What you bring to the table
  • Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
  • Ensure all sanitary standards are upheld, and the aesthetic of the café is maintained.
  • Lead with hospitality; welcome guests, resolve concerns with care, and ensure everyone enjoys a memorable experience.
  • Supervise café staff during assigned shifts, providing direction, encouragement, and real-time support.
  • Delegate tasks to keep service efficient and the dining room sparkling clean.
  • Jump in as needed to take orders, deliver food, or support the team during busy times.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and consistency and request re-fires when needed to maintain our high standards.
  • Manage staffing needs, including scheduling, break/meal coverage, and filling in when the unexpected happens.
  • Support in hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and discipline helping your team grow and shine.
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and supply tracking to keep the café fully stocked and ready to serve.
  • Help control costs by keeping an eye on labor and food usage without sacrificing guest service.
  • Provide training and mentoring to new and current team members to build confidence and maximize performance.
  • Issue service recoveries or dining vouchers as needed to turn a challenge into a win for our guests.
  • Ensure staff follow company policies and uphold service standards whenever the Café Manager is not present.
  • Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

  • Friendly and approachable attitude that helps guests (and the team) feel welcome and cared for every day.
  • Minimum one year exposure to commercial kitchen environment preferably in the casino or hotel industry.
  • Minimum one year of progressive management experience demonstrating strong supervisory and guest relation skills.
  • GED or HS Diploma required with food service management education preferred.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid OLCC permit or the ability to obtain one and working knowledge of OLCC regulations.
  • ServeSafe certification required or must have the ability to become certified within 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for cooking.
  • The ability to follow written instructions required.
  • The ability to provide instructions to others in a clear and patient manner verbally and in written form.
  • Comfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.
