Job description

Title: Food Service Operation Worker (Early-Morning Shift)
Location: Savannah, GA 31406
Duration: 12 months contract to direct hire
20 Openings
Schedule:
Early Morning Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • 40 hours per week (Sunday - Saturday)
  • Facility operates 5:00 AM - 7:00 PM (365 days/year)
  • Must be available for rotating weekday shifts
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (work 2, off 1)

Pay Rate: $11.75/hr.
Client: QuantifiVMS (Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities - State of Georgia - Savannah)
Position Summary:
The Food Service Operation Worker is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving food in large quantities while maintaining strict sanitation and safety standards to prevent foodborne illness.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and portion food for regular and modified diets
Operate kitchen equipment (high-temperature machinery, sharp tools)
Set up serving lines and distribute meals (tray line & cafeteria)
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and work areas
Perform dishwashing and sanitation duties (dish machine & 3-compartment sink)
Handle food carts and assist with transport operations
Operate cash register when needed
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 40 lbs independently and 75 lbs with assistance
Stand/walk for up to 80% of shift
Frequent bending, stooping, and repetitive motions
Work in wet/slippery conditions (slip-resistant shoes required)
Work Environment:
Fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
Exposure to hot equipment and moving machinery
Requires adherence to strict hygiene and safety protocols
Productivity Expectations:
Complete assigned tasks within established timeframes
Maintain accuracy within acceptable error limits
