Job description

Under general supervision provides a dining experience that meets or exceeds guests' expectations by processing orders and presenting properly prepared meals in a timely fashion; and performs other duties as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Positions in this specification may be assigned to any of the food venues in the Carson Nugget, e.g., Eatery, Banquets or Angelina's and may provide service in more than one venue, as business dictates.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Exercises no supervision.

Essential Functions: (This class specification may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties that may be performed.)

Greet guests as they are seated by introducing oneself to the party and informing them that the incumbent will be serving them; answer guests' questions about menu items and inform them about specials, making choice suggestions or recommendations upon request in order to practice the highest standards of guest service.

Write up guests' food orders and transmit orders to the kitchen for timely preparation; receive beverage orders and ensure their timely delivery personally or transmit orders to other team members for delivery to increase guest satisfaction.

Ensure that all food items are properly prepared, promptly and appetizingly presented by coordinating each order with back-of-the-house team members so that service times are not excessive.

Observe diners during the course of the meal, stopping by to determine that guests are satisfied with the food, to respond to additional service requirements and to determine when guests have completed their meal, providing timely presentation of the bill.

Respond to guests' questions, using the Quick Reference Guide, providing information about casino gaming promotions, special and other events and/or programs in order to assist guests, advertise marketing campaigns and encourage guest attendance and participation.

Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner to provide information within the area of assignment.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide training and oversight to less experienced team members.

Total bills and accept payment from guests as the need arises.

Assist bus persons with stocking and removing dishware, glassware and flatware, cleaning and resetting vacated tables.

Perform other duties as assigned.
