Position: Part-Time Lunch Server
Reports To: Operations Manager
Schedule: 9:30 am-1:30 pm, School Days
Classification: Hourly
Salary: $18-22 per hour, based on experience
Position Summary
Northeast College Prep is seeking a dependable and organized Part-Time Lunch Server to support our school meal program. The Lunch Server is responsible for preparing the serving area, serving meals to students, maintaining a clean and sanitary food service environment, and completing required meal service procedures.
The ideal candidate enjoys working around children, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of providing students with a welcoming and well-organized meal experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare the cafeteria and serving area for daily meal service.
  • Receive, organize, and prepare food and supplies for service.
  • Serve meals to students according to established portion sizes and meal program requirements.
  • Maintain an orderly and efficient serving line.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
  • Monitor food temperatures and complete required food service documentation.
  • Maintain accurate meal counts and other required records.
  • Clean and sanitize serving areas, equipment, tables, and other food service spaces.
  • Properly store food, supplies, and equipment following meal service.
  • Assist with inventory and notify the Operations Manager when food or supplies need to be replenished.
  • Interact with students and staff in a positive, respectful, and professional manner.
  • Follow school procedures and help reinforce NECP expectations during meal service.
  • Complete annual food service training.
  • Complete other food service or school support duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous food service, school, childcare, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily responsibilities without extensive supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Ability to work efficiently during busy meal periods.
  • Willingness to complete required food safety training.

Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks associated with food service and cleaning.
