Are you a marketing professional who enjoys creating campaigns that increase audience engagement and drives revenue growth? Do you like using data, creativity, and project management skills to promote events and programs? If so, this may be the role for you. Keep reading!


Quick Snapshot: In this role, you will lead the development and execution of multi-channel marketing strategies that drives event attendee acquisition, increases ROI, and supports FMI's position as a leading voice in the food retail industry. You will lead marketing for a portfolio of industry conferences and programs and be responsible for strengthening brand awareness and market position in support of non-dues revenue, member retention and growth.


What Youโ€™ll Do in This Role:

  • Develop and execute short- and long-term strategic marketing, communications, and promotional plans aligned with organizational goals and event revenue objectives. Make strategic recommendations to FMI leadership regarding event marketing campaigns.
  • Lead and implement integrated marketing strategies and multi-channel campaigns that drive attendee acquisition, sponsorship engagement, and revenue growth for FMIโ€™s event portfolio.
  • Oversee end-to-end campaign development, including timelines, content, creative coordination, prospect list management, testing, and asset development.
  • Partner with internal teams, planning committees, and partner organizations to develop event messaging and align marketing efforts with industry trends and audience needs.
  • Manage project timelines and campaign execution using Asana and other project management tools to ensure successful delivery of marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze and track marketing campaign performance, adjust tactics and messaging as needed, and provide reporting on results, audience growth, and return on investment.
  • Manage and optimize event websites, digital marketing initiatives, advertising, and media partnerships to enhance visibility, engagement, and conversions.
  • Leverage emerging marketing trends and technologies to strengthen FMIโ€™s event promotion strategy and work collaboratively with the Marketing team to drive innovation and continuous improvement.


Education and Skills Youโ€™ll Need to Be Successful:

  • A bachelorโ€™s degree in marketing or related field. A Masterโ€™s degree in marketing is a plus.
  • Minimum of seven to nine years of experience working in events marketing.
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, HubSpot, HTML, Adobe, Photoshop, and digital marketing.
  • Familiarity with research-driven messaging, storytelling and creative concepting.
  • The ability to think outside the box to make strategic recommendations that will make an impact.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, as well as interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks independently.
