Job description

As Director of Food & Beverage, you will lead the full Food & Beverage operation and help define its next chapter. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with Sam Fox and the senior leadership team, you will oversee operations, financial performance, talent, guest experience, and the continued evolution of the property's culinary identity.

This is an opportunity for a builder, an executive who can balance creativity, hospitality, people, and profitability at the highest level.

Why The Global Ambassador

  • Competitive rates

  • Retirement savings program (with company match)

  • Paid time off

  • Be a part of a luxury property recognized for its exceptional service and unique guest experiences.

  • Work with a dedicated team committed to redefining hospitality in Phoenix.

  • Opportunities for career growth within an expanding, forward-thinking hospitality brand.

Who We Are

Hospitality refined for a global mindset.

The Global Ambassador is an internationally inspired hotel from hospitality innovator Sam Fox and the newest addition to Author & Edit, his growing collection of hospitality experiences. Join us in the journey of creating moments worth remembering and sharing.

What You Will Lead

  • Banquets and catering

  • In-room dining

  • Culinary operations and stewarding

  • Membership Food & Beverage

  • Spa Food & Beverage

  • Seasonal activations and signature events

  • The Food & Beverage leadership team and overall financial performance

What You’ll Do

Guest & Culinary Experience

  • Champion personalized luxury hospitality across every dining and member experience.

  • Partner with Culinary leadership on menus, beverage programs, concepts, and programming.

  • Identify emerging culinary, hospitality, and lifestyle trends and translate them into relevant experiences.

  • Further establish The Global Ambassador as a leading independent luxury culinary destination.

Executive Leadership

  • Set the strategic direction for the Food & Beverage division.

  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team.

  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and exceptional hospitality.

  • Partner directly with Sam Fox and senior leadership to evolve existing concepts and identify new opportunities.

  • Collaborate across all hotel divisions, including Rooms, Membership, Spa, Sales, Marketing, and Finance.

  • Be a visible, hands-on leader who leads from the floor as readily as from the boardroom.

Financial & Operational Leadership

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, revenue strategy, labor, purchasing, inventory, and cost controls.

  • Drive revenue growth and profitability while protecting the quality of the guest experience.

  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across the portfolio.

  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and long-term business performance.

  • Maintain Forbes Five-Star service standards throughout Food & Beverage.

Qualifications

This role is designed for an established Food & Beverage executive, not simply a functional department head. You are a builder, operator, culture leader, and commercial thinker who has demonstrated the ability to lead complex, multi-concept operations while influencing people, financial performance, guest experience, and long-term strategy.

  • 10+ years of progressive Food & Beverage leadership experience, including multiple restaurant concepts and banquet operations.

  • Experience within a Forbes Five-Star, Michelin-recognized, leading luxury hotel, resort, restaurant group, or comparable high-end hospitality environment.

  • A proven record of building and retaining exceptional leadership teams.

  • Significant P&L and commercial responsibility, with strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, labor, revenue, purchasing, and cost management.

  • Experience improving operations, opening concepts, developing new experiences, or driving meaningful business growth.

  • Exceptional communication and emotional intelligence.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the confidence to challenge convention when the business or guest experience demands it.

  • A leadership style grounded in humility, accountability, high standards, and genuine respect for people.

  • The ability to operate comfortably with ownership, senior executives, chefs, employees, guests, members, and industry leaders.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 12–18 months, you will:

  • Strengthen the Food & Beverage leadership team and talent pipeline.

  • Improve operational consistency and financial performance.

  • Identify opportunities for meaningful revenue and profitability growth.

  • Elevate the guest and member experience across the portfolio.

  • Help define the next evolution of The Global Ambassador's culinary identity.
