Job description

Position: 3rd shift Packer 

Base Pay:  $18.84 per hour+ Shift Differential $1.50 ,  bonuses 

Shift: 9:30pm-6am Monday-Friday with over time as needed -Full time

SUMMARY  

Packers are responsible for interfacing with equipment and a wide selection of food items. 

Being a food Packer, you will typically work on a fast-moving production line, with food passing down on conveyor belts, through a variety of stages; mixing, cooking and packaging. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   

  • Responsible for adding goods into their correct mass flow containers and preparing them for disbursement. Cleans and prepares containers before placing goods in them. 
  • Inspects materials and products for defects and to ensure conformance to specifications. 
  • Weighs or measures materials or products to ensure conformance to specifications. 
  • Identifies and marks materials, products, and samples, following instructions. 
  • Records production and operational information and data on specified forms. 
  • Modifies materials and products during manufacturing process to meet requirements. 
  • Moves controls to start, stop, or adjust machinery and equipment. 
  • Feeds materials into machines and equipment to process and manufacture products. 
  • Loads materials and products into machines and equipment, using hand tools and moving devices. 
  • Removes materials and products from machines and equipment, using hand tools and moving devices. 
  • Off bears materials and products from machines and equipment, using hand tools. 
  • And all other duties required in the packing and feeder position 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required: 

  • Ability to work in cold and warm environments. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Lift products and boxes weighing up to 40lbs. 
  • Loading of product onto conveyors utilizing hands and arms in a fast-paced range of motion 
  • Sturdy upper shoe (no mesh). 
  • Individual must be willing to work as a team member. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully preform the essential function of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Ability to work in a food-manufacturing/food distribution environment. 

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the warehouse and offices including walking, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk occasionally.  Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods within a maximum of 40lbs. on an intermittent basis.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located near machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
