Job description

**Packing Lead Job Summary: **A local Food Manufacturer in Grand Rapids, MI, is looking for a packing lead to add to their team. This person will monitor, oversee and facilitate the packing lines as well as complete administrative duties, production paperwork, hourly line checks and quality checks in a timely manner. Will be Observing all safety regulations, ensuring GMP's and quality standards.

Packing Lead Responsibilities.

  • Ensure that proper supplies are positioned to assigned workstation and if not communicate with other personnel
  • Put on all required PPE and safety gear and insure that all safety device are functioning properly
  • Start the machine, perform pre- production check to ensure it is functioning properly. Set up for production, add oil from 5 gallon bucket, dump and dispense salt and seasoning and mix ingredients with machine
  • Fill oil buckets from, operate tumblers and scales, change sealer/ tape rolls, bag tolls and provide break relief from packing line operators
  • Monitor, oversee and facilitate the packing line, complete admin duties, production paperwork, hourly checks, quality checks as well as ensure a safe and efficient work environment for all staff
  • Make minor corrections and adjustments to equipment, communicate and assist production and maintenance personnel as required
  • At the end of shift, perform general housekeeping and clean up

Schedule & Pay:

  • 2nd shift 4:15pm – 2:00am Monday-Friday; overtime as needed and rarely some Saturdays
  • $19.50-25.30/HR + 1.50 Shift Premium

Sanitation Qualifications:

  • Must have 1-2 years of experience in food processing/Sanitation

  • Knows what GMP & SQF quality standards

  • High School or GED

  • Able to lift 50 lbs

  • Read, write and effectively communicate in English

  • Basic Math/ Calculations

  • Lock out/ Tag Out
