Job description

Every month, neighbors across North Carolina come together through PORCH to help stock the shelves of local food pantries. By spending just a few hours each month organizing a simple neighborhood food drive, you can make a lasting impact for families experiencing food insecurity while building stronger connections with your neighbors.

As a PORCH Neighborhood Coordinator, you'll choose a monthly collection day that works for you and your neighbors. On that day, neighbors leave nonperishable food donations on their porches, and you'll collect and deliver them to a local food pantry. If you don't already have a pantry partner in mind, we'll help you find one!

Our goal is to make volunteering simple, flexible, and sustainable. You choose the collection day, we'll provide the support, and together we'll build a reliable source of food for your local pantry.

The time commitment is just a few hours each month, but the impact is significant. Regular monthly food drives provide local pantries with a dependable source of food while creating a meaningful way for neighbors to help neighbors.

No prior experience is needed. PORCH provides onboarding, training, outreach materials, customizable resources, and ongoing support to help you get started and grow your neighborhood food drive.

Whether you're organizing the first PORCH neighborhood in your community or joining an existing network of neighborhoods, we'll connect you with the tools, support, and fellow volunteers to help you succeed.
