Position Summary


The Warehouse Administrator is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the daily flow of warehouse operations. This role manages inventory records, product rotation, backorders, container receiving, and Warehouse Management System (WMS) transactions while working closely with Warehouse, Sales, and Purchasing.


The Warehouse Administrator helps maintain inventory integrity, supports fulfillment decisions, and proactively identifies issues before they impact operations or customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory audits; investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Monitor FEFO (First Expired, First Out) compliance and identify short-dated inventory.
  • Verify inventory levels, lot numbers, expiration dates, product locations, and inventory adjustments.
  • Identify slow-moving, aging, excess, or at-risk inventory and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review backorders and assist with product allocation, substitutions, and inventory availability.
  • Coordinate inventory transfers between warehouse locations to optimize stock levels.
  • Support container receiving, inventory reconciliation, and product receiving activities.
  • Communicate inventory shortages, product availability, and inventory updates with Warehouse, Sales, and Purchasing.
  • Generate inventory reports and recommend process improvements to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Follow all food safety, workplace safety, and company procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based within a warehouse environment.
  • Regular interaction with warehouse operations and inventory areas.
  • Occasional work in refrigerated and freezer environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Shift 2 (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in warehouse administration, inventory management, food distribution, or supply chain preferred.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP software (NetSuite, SAP, Odoo, or similar).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and computer proficiency.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, FEFO, product rotation, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience with product allocation, substitutions, or food distribution is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Indian grocery, restaurant, or food distribution is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills; bilingual (English/Hindi) preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite in Troy, Michigan.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
