Advertised Compensation: $64,100.00 to $75,400.00 

Purpose: The Proposal Writer supports the full proposal development lifecycle by crafting clear, compliant, and compelling written content and contributing to creative production.  

Essential Functions: 

  • At the direction of Proposal Directors, participates in the development, construction, and production of proposals across all phases including SOQs, RFQs, and RFPs 

  • Crafts proposal sections that are clear, concise, accurate, and compliant with established templates and submission requirements, incorporating feedback from reviews through final submission; maintains consistency in language, tense, formatting, and overall presentation across proposal materials 

  • Writes, edits, and formats proposal content including solution narratives, management approaches, technical descriptions, presentations, and supporting documentation 

  • Gathers supporting information to craft responses to specific inquiries and information requests; facilitates cross-discipline coordination with Operations, Marketing & Communications, Business Development Finance, Legal, SMEs, and consultants 

  • Contributes to creative production by assisting with layout, graphics support, infographic development, and visual integration within proposal documents 

  • Ensures that content requested consistently meets scheduled milestones and submission deadlines  

  • Analyzes RFIs and RFPs for customer requirements and develops compliant response content that fits the customer's needs and addresses evaluation criteria 

  • Archives proposal elements, project data, boilerplates, graphics, and templates; maintains and updates proposal-related artifacts including project summaries and supporting visuals 

Reporting relationship: The Proposal Writer reports to the Director of Proposal Creative & Technical Services 

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:  

  • Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must be 5 years: 

  • In a technical role: Requires 5 years of experience in roles closely related to proposal writing or business development support; proposal management and coordination function with experience engaged in retail and Food & Beverage environments  

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, or a program related to the functional area can count for 2 of the 5-year requirement 

  • In the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience  

  • Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits 

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail and precision 

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines 

  • Basic visual design aptitude with interest in contributing to graphic and layout production 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with SharePoint and InDesign a plus 

  • Familiarity with the RFP or proposal processes preferred  

  • Demonstrated history ofunderstanding the needs of the business,stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances 

  • Demonstrated history ofcreating and maintaining positive work environmentsthroughcoaching, developing, and leading teamsto achieve common goals
