Position Overview 

The Food and Beverage Manager supports the overall leadership, supervision, and operational excellence of the hotel's Food & Beverage division, including restaurants, bars, lounges, in-room dining, and banquet operations. This role ensures exceptional guest service, strong financial performance, consistent execution of brand standards, and the development of high-performing F&B teams. The Food and Beverage Manager plays a hands-on leadership role in daily operations across one or more outlets in a full-service hotel environment. 


What You'll Do 

Operational Leadership & Daily Oversight 

  • Assist in managing daily Food & Beverage operations across multiple outlets, ensuring smooth and efficient service. 
  • Lead pre-shift meetings, communicate daily objectives, and support team readiness. 
  • Ensure proper staffing based on business levels and forecasted needs. 
  • Maintain a visible presence during peak meal periods to support service excellence. 

Guest Service & Experience Excellence 

  • Ensure all guests receive welcoming, attentive, and personalized service. 
  • Support prompt resolution of guest concerns, complaints, and service recovery situations. 
  • Monitor quality of food, beverages, and service standards across all dining areas. 
  • Assist with VIP service coordination and special dining experiences. 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Supervise and support servers, bartenders, hosts, food runners, barbacks, and supervisors. 
  • Train team members on service standards, menu knowledge, upselling techniques, and safety procedures. 
  • Assist with interviewing, onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluations. 
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture. 

Financial Management & Cost Control 

  • Support financial performance through labor control, cost monitoring, and forecasting. 
  • Assist with inventory of beverages, china, glassware, silver, linen, and small wares. 
  • Review daily sales reports, labor reports, and budget performance. 
  • Support menu engineering, promotions, and revenue-generating initiatives. 

Safety, Sanitation & Compliance 

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and liquor laws and regulations. 
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization standards in dining areas, bars, beverage storage, and service stations. 
  • Train the team on safe alcohol service (TABC compliance), food handling, and emergency procedures. 
  • Conduct routine inspections of operational areas to maintain standards. 

Collaboration & Cross-Function Support 

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef, Banquet Manager, and outlet leaders to maintain consistency in service and quality. 
  • Partner with Sales, Banquets, and Catering for event execution and special functions. 
  • Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, and Engineering for guest needs and operational support. 
  • Assist in implementing hotel-wide programs, promotions, and guest experience initiatives. 

Administrative Responsibilities 

  • Assist with scheduling, payroll submission, ordering, and inventory management. 
  • Prepare operational reports and contribute to monthly departmental meetings. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation for liquor inventories, service logs, and safety records. 
  • Support departmental planning, outlet maintenance needs, and budgeting processes. 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Assist with opening and closing duties for outlets. 
  • Support hotel sustainability efforts in food waste reduction and responsible sourcing. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall Food & Beverage operations. 
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance as an essential function of the role. 


What You'll Bring 

Required Education & Experience 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

Preferred Education & Experience 

  • Previous Food & Beverage supervisory or managerial experience preferred. 
  • Experience in a full-service hotel or high-volume dining environment preferred. 
  • Experience in bar operations, restaurant management, or banquet oversight preferred. 
  • Hospitality or business-related coursework or training preferred. 

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Strong leadership and communication skills. 
  • Ability to motivate, train, and manage diverse teams. 
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, standards, and best practices. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. 
  • Excellent guest service skills with strong problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs. 
  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications. 

Other Qualifications  

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.  
  • Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards.  
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards. 
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred. 

Licenses or Certificates 

  • Food Safe Serve/Texas Food Handlers Certification 
  • CPR certification 
  • TABC required and maintained
