Day Shift | 4:30 am - 1:10 pm

Swing Shift | 1:10 pm - 11:40 pm

Hourly | $20.00 - $28.00

About this Opportunity:

This position performs journey-level spot-welding on various material types and gages.



Responsibilities

  • Performs basic sheet metal operations in various departments as needed.
  • Follows verbal and/or written job instructions.
  • Performs any adjustments of Spot-weld controller as necessary.
  • Follow Vander-Bend Manufacturing Spot-weld set-up process.
  • Design, fabricate and maintain Spot-weld fixtures as necessary.
  • Maintain and requisition Spot-weld tooling as necessary.
  • Create setup sheet and forward to the Weld Lead.
  • Produces quality MIG and TIG welds in different positions on varied alloys through a wide range of material gages.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of sheet metal manufacturing experience, including at least 1 year of spot welding (resistance welding) experience.
  • Familiarity with the AMADA ID40 IV resistance welder is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand written documents and work instructions.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, including addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  • Ability to perform complex machine set-ups in a timely manner.
  • Experience operating, adjusting, and troubleshooting Spot Welding (Resistance Welding) equipment preferred.
  • Ability to maximize spot weld production while minimizing machine set-ups.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
