Field Sales Consultant (Curate - Phoenix, AZ)

We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Field Sales Consultant to serve as a trusted advisor to our clients and prospects in the Phoenix, AZ Territory .

The Curate division serves the Food Service Supply and Equipment channel of distribution offering Sales and Marketing services in 31 states. We are currently looking for someone with Food Service industry experience to join us as an Outside Sales Professional. This person must be a result-driven individual that has a track record of client relationship management. The chosen candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to handle multiple tasks throughout the day while being extremely detailed oriented. The main responsibilities are to drive sales and increase market share while enhancing the customer experience. At Curate we believe in trust and transparency, as we have built our brand on our relationships and reputation. The ideal person will be able to represent those values in any and all dealings with our client base.

The Position:

Our Field Sales Consultants specialize in providing innovative food service solutions to the foodservice and distribution segments. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with restaurants, convention centers, stadiums, schools, hospitals, and other commercial foodservice segment operators to understand their unique needs and deliver tailored food equipment solutions. You will also engage with the broader food service supply and equipment market, driving sales and expanding our presence in this vital industry by working with our dealers, distributors and foodservice design consultants. This position has a heavy focus on the design, and specification of custom engineered display products.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing customers while proactively developing new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory. Understand their specific needs and challenges related to food service operations.

Product Knowledge:

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of our food equipment and supply products. Provide consultation to customers on design, layout, and product application and integration. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Conduct engaging in-person and virtual sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the advantages of our equipment and supply offerings.

Needs Assessment:

  • Collaborate with clients to assess their current food service operations, identify areas for improvement, and recommend appropriate equipment solutions that align with their goals.

Proposal Development:

  • Prepare customized proposals and quotes that address the specific needs of each client, ensuring competitive pricing and value-added solutions.
  • Work with distributors to develop new accounts and drive business growth within all foodservice segments.

Market Research:

  • Conduct research to identify potential new clients, understand market trends, and gather feedback from existing customers to improve products and services.

Networking:

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and local meetings to network with food service professionals and promote our offerings.
  • Utilize CRM software to track sales activities, maintain accurate records of client interactions, and report on sales progress and forecasts.

Follow-Up:

  • Maintain regular communication with clientโ€™s post-sale to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns, and identify opportunities for additional sales or upgrades.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 2+ years in B2B sales, preferably in food service equipment or related fields.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret design layouts, equipment plans, or architectural drawings. Knowledge of millwork, construction, or stainless-steel fabrication (hands-on or project-based). Basic understanding of refrigeration and hot holding equipment.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.

Relationship Building:

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, particularly in the foodservice and educational sector.
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
