The Employee Relations Advisor serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and HR Business Partners as the subject-matter expert in employee relations issues, workplace concerns, investigations, policy interpretation, performance management, employee conduct issues, and leave of absence (LOA) related matters.

This role is responsible for managing routine to moderately complex employee relations cases and partnership with leaders to navigate employee issues that intersect with leave, performance, and workplace concerns, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes. The Advisor proactively identifies trends and provides guidance that strengthens organizational culture and reduces risk.

Responsibilities
  • Manages a caseload of routine to moderately complex employee relations matters, including but not limited to performance issues, attendance, conduct, policy violations, and workplace concerns
  • Conducts thorough, impartial investigations, document findings, and prepare recommendations in alignment with company standards; Maintain accurate and confidential case records
  • Ensures timely resolution of cases in alignment with KPIs, service level expectations, and organizational standards
  • Advises leaders on performance management, corrective actions, termination decisions, policy application, and employee relations best practices with a balance of business needs, employee experience, and risk mitigation
  • Coachs leaders on difficult employee conversations; Analyze ER trends, identify risk patterns, and recommend proactive solutions to mitigate risk and improve employee experience
  • Ensures accurate documentation, consistency, and compliance with established processes, employment policies, and laws
  • Advises leaders on LOA related employee matters ensuring consistent, compliant, decision making aligned with company policy and federal, state, and local laws
  • Partners with Legal/Compliance and COE Partners on high-risk matters; Escalate complex issues appropriately
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; or equivalent education & experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Employee Relations experience or progressive HR experience, preferably within operations, pharmacy, healthcare, or manufacturing industries
  • Direct experience managing, advising, and resolving employee relations matters including conducting workplace investigations
  • Knowledge of current state and federal employment/labor laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, Title VII)
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills; Proven analytical skills, critical thinking, sound judgment and decision making under ambiguity
  • Ability to influence leaders without authority
  • Excellent documentation and case management skills
  • Experience with labor unions and advising on labor relations matters highly preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed
