Job description

At FMG, we have been supporting rural New Zealand for more than 120 years. As a mutual, we are here for our clients, and everything we do is driven by helping them succeed.

We are looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant to join our Executive & Board Support Team, supporting our Chief Digital and Data Officer, and Chief Client Officer.

About the role

This is more than a traditional EA role. It is an opportunity to become a trusted partner to two senior executives, work alongside a high-performing team, and play a key role in helping FMG deliver great outcomes for our Members, Client, and People.

No two days are the same. One minute you will be coordinating executive calendars and preparing for key meetings; the next you will be helping navigate a last-minute change, coordinating across teams, or finding a solution to a problem before anyone else has even spotted it.

You will work closely with the wider Executive & Board Support Team, contributing wherever needed and supporting a collaborative team culture where everyone pitches in to get the job done.

Success in this role comes from staying one step ahead, building strong relationships, and knowing how to balance competing priorities while keeping calm under pressure.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and genuinely enjoys helping others succeed. You will bring:

  • At least 5 years' experience supporting C-suite or senior executives.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to re-prioritise at the drop of a hat and adapt quickly when circumstances change.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with a knack for staying one step ahead.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues and provide cover across the Executive & Board Support Team when required.
  • A high level of professionalism, discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential information.
  • A strong client-centric focus and a genuine desire to create positive experiences for both internal and external stakeholders.

Most importantly, you will be a team player who enjoys being part of a high-performing team that works together, supports one another and celebrates success.

Why FMG?

At FMG, we know our success comes from our people. When you join us, you will become part of a supportive, connected and down-to-earth culture where people genuinely care about each other and the work they do.

Along with a meaningful career, we offer a range of great benefits including

  • flexible working practices
  • 4% employer superannuation contribution
  • free life and income protection insurance
  • two wellbeing days each year
  • five paid professional development days
  • annual salary reviews
  • a paid Give Back Day to support your community

If you are an experienced Executive Assistant who loves variety, enjoys working with great people, and wants to be part of a team that makes things happen, we would love to hear from you.
