Job description

A large and busy family in Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL is looking for another ROTA nanny to join their wonderful team. The family has four children: a 4.5-year-old, a 3-year-old, 1.5-year-old twins, and a 6-month-old

The schedule is full-time and rotational: 1 week on/1 week off. Candidates can expect to work between 7am and 8pm during every other rotation, and be on duty 24/7 and cover overnights during the other rotation. The family will communicate specific weekly hours in advance. Flexibility for evenings, travel, and occasional overnight shifts during the rotation will be key for the right candidate! This is a very busy household with many moving pieces. You must be local or plan to be local soon. The family will help with relocation for the right people. 


  • Full childcare of three active children, close in age
  • Enrichment in and outside the home, monitoring and encouragement of milestones, partnering with mom and dad to ensure the best care
  • Light housekeeping related to the children, including laundry, solids introduction and meal preparation, and keeping children’s spaces tidy
  • Managing packing, unpacking, and activity planning during family travel
  • Strong meal planning and keeping fresh, wholesome food on hand for the children
  • Working well within a collaborative, staffed household designed to provide seamless coverage for the children. The nanny team includes four rotational nannies, with two nannies working together during each rotation and one providing overnight coverage.

  • Exceptional hands-on nanny with tremendous energy and executive functioning who can thrive in a fast-moving team environment.
  • Highly organized, an excellent multitasker, proactive, low ego, comfortable taking direction, and very good at anticipating what needs to happen next.
  • This is not a role for someone who wants to be a family member- this is a professional atmosphere 

  • 5 years of professional childcare experience
  • Experience working in a team or fully-staffed environment
  • Ability to live-out while off duty and live-in during monthly 24/7 ROTA shift
  • Willingness to relocate within a commutable distance of Chicago
  • Able to swim and care for children in water
  • Travel experience
  • Family assisting experience
  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver's license
  • Dog-friendly and willing to provide light pet care
  • Ability to take feedback
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family

  • DOE $140-$150
