Job description

Job Title: Travel Data Center Technician (Fly-In / Fly-Out)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and flexible Travel Data Center Technician to support critical infrastructure across multiple data center sites nationwide. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy travel and hands-on technical work without the need to relocate. Technicians will be deployed to various sites on a project or support basis, flying in as needed and returning home upon completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center hardware including servers, racks, cabling, and network equipment
  • Execute break/fix support, hardware upgrades, and decommissioning activities
  • Install and manage structured cabling (copper and fiber), including testing and labeling
  • Support power and cooling systems, including PDU installs and basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for deployment and incident response
  • Document work performed, inventory updates, and site conditions accurately

Travel Requirements

  • 100% travel-based role (fly-in/fly-out model)
  • No relocation required — candidates may reside anywhere in the U.S.
  • Travel typically ranges from 3–10 days per assignment (may vary)
  • All travel expenses (flights, hotels, per diem, rental cars) are covered by the company
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent travel requests is essential

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of experience in data center operations, IT support, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with server hardware, rack/stack, and cabling
  • Basic understanding of networking (IP addressing, switches, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data center environments and best practices
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
