Job description

Summary:  Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, this position will be responsible for leading preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, repairs and the continual upkeep of all manufacturing equipment and machinery at the Goshen Planer Mill. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional attitude.
  • Wear appropriate PPE.
  • Make proper repairs and corrections.
  • Operate proper hand tools and testing devices.
  • Use ladders when necessary.
  • Adhere to OR OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform highly skilled mechanical and maintenance tasks.
  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and other mill equipment.
  • Troubleshoot the cause of downtime events, determine course of action, and carry out repair to return equipment to effective and safe operating condition.

Lubricate and clean parts, perform maintenance planning, layout work, and weld as required

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Be a Journeyman Licensed Millwright.
  • Familiarity with wood products manufacturing equipment and environments.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must have minimum 5-years Millwright experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to exercise logical problem-solving skills and react appropriately in upset situations.
  • Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problems solving skills.
  • Dedicated, self-motivated team member, willing and able to work independently or as a team.
  • Must be willing and able to work shifts, call-ins, holidays, and overtime.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Be able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, work from heights, and in confined/restricted areas.
