WHAT'S THE JOB?

 Reporting directly to the Head Chef, the person occupying the position of 3rd cook assists the 2nd cook in production. He or she must ensure that the necessary menu items are prepared, that they are complete, that follow-up is carried out and that the food meets quality standards. The 3rd cook must be able to work under pressure, manage time well and have a positive attitude.    

Responsibilities

 The duties and responsibilities of the person occupying the position of 3rd cook, but are not necessarily limited to, the following duties:  

  • Assist the 2nd Cook in his production;
  • Assist in the production of side dishes and salad bars;
  • Prepare raw vegetables and fruit;
  • Ensure that all necessary preparation is carried out, recorded and meets quality standards;
  • Participate in cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and service areas;
  • Ensure proper food storage and rotation;
  • Ensure that all tasks are performed safely and report any incidents or problems immediately. Don't miss out, act now;

 Relevant directement du Chef de cuisine, la personne occupant le poste de 3e cuisinier aide le 2e cuisinier dans sa production. Il doit s’assurer de préparer les items du menu nécessaires, qu’ils soient complets, que le suivi soit effectué et que la nourriture rencontre les standards de qualité. Le 3e cuisinier doit savoir travailler sous pression, bien gérer son temps et faire preuve d’une attitude positive.   

Responsabilités  

  Les tâches et responsabilités de la personne occupant le poste de 3e cuisinier incluent, mais ne se limitent pas nécessairement aux tâches suivantes :    

  Assister le 2e Cuisinier dans sa production;  

  • Aider à la production des accompagnements et des comptoirs à salade;  

  • Préparer les crudités et les fruits;  

  • S’assurer que toute la préparation nécessaire est effectuée, notée et rencontre les standards de qualité;  

  • Participer au nettoyage et au maintien de la propreté de la cuisine et des espaces de services;  

  • Assurer un entreposage et une rotation adéquate des aliments; 

  • S’assurer que toutes les tâches sont effectuées de façon sécuritaire et signaler tout incident ou problème immédiatement. Ne passez pas à côté, agissez maintenant;

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma in hospitality, food service, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience;
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in the kitchen;
  • French-English bilingualism is considered an asset;
  • Experience in labour camps in regions or remote areas (encampments) is an asset;
  • Be able and willing to travel and work in remote settings on regular rotations.
