EHS Administrator

Position Summary

The EHS Administrator provides administrative support to the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) function, assisting with the coordination, maintenance, and reporting of health, safety, and environmental programs. This role helps ensure accurate record keeping, regulatory compliance, and effective communication of EHS initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize EHS documentation, records, databases, and filing systems.
  • Track employee and contractor training, certifications, and competency records.
  • Support onboarding and orientation processes, including the collection and management of required documentation.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking.
  • Prepare and distribute safety communications, reports, meeting minutes, and awareness materials.
  • Compile and maintain EHS statistics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and compliance reports.
  • Coordinate and schedule EHS meetings, training sessions, audits, and inspections.
  • Support internal and external audits through document preparation and record management.
  • Monitor and track compliance-related requirements for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain safety bulletin boards, communication platforms, and other EHS information resources.
  • Provide administrative support to EHS personnel and operational teams as required.
  • Ensure the confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of all EHS records and information.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
  • Previous administrative experience in a professional or operational environment.
  • Strong organizational, record management, and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting health, safety, environmental, quality, operational, construction, manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or energy-related functions.
  • Familiarity with document control systems, incident reporting processes, and compliance tracking.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices is considered an asset.
