Job description

Position Scope:

The Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic with large earthworks construction / mining project experience.

We offer: 

  • 2 week on / 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on/3 weeks off rotations; 12-hour days
  • Competitive hourly rates with Overtime Pay (1.5x),
  • Fly in and fly out.
  • Travel and accommodation provided.
Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and uptime of heavy mobile equipment critical to mine operations.
  • Works within the contract presented to the client.
  • Mentor apprentices and support employee development and training.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings and provide a safe work environment.
  • Daily documentation and correspondence between client and company on performance of equipment as described in the applicable contract.
  • Ensure QAQC forms and red-line drawing packages are being completed properly and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensure work orders are being filled out properly with quality information.
  • Must follow standard safety operating procedures.
  • Prioritize and schedule repairs in collaboration with operations and site supervisors.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the continued improvement of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation Incorporate HS&E concepts into work activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety (co-workers, clients, and sub trades).
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
  • Minimum 2 plus years experience working on larger industrial heavy equipment used in the mining and earthworks industry; (Earthworks, Civil construction, and Mining); 
  • Excellent communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills in hydraulics, electrical systems, diesel engines, and undercarriage components.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and interpret diagnostic codes.
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Eligible to work and reside in Canada.
