Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Location: Moorhead MN

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: $26 - $32 per hour – 401k, Health, Dental, Vision, and PTO

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate a variety of heavy machinery, such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders, to assist in the construction, maintenance, and excavation of projects. This position requires strong attention to safety protocols, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, solid understanding of construction site procedures, and working out of Moorhead for multiple days at a time that will require staying in a hotel.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate and maintain heavy equipment
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Excavate 20ft deep trenches safely.
  • Maintain grade and depth in trenches.
  • Operate 1ton Truck with Gooseneck. (CDL Required)
  • Operate Tactor/Low Boy Trailer (CDL Required)
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and maintain equipment in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with team members to execute project plans and schedules.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting materials.
  • Report any malfunctions or issues with equipment to the supervisor.
  • Ensure the job site is kept clean and organized.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license & Class A CDL (or the ability to obtain a CDL)
  • 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and follow instructions.
  • Ability to operate and use GPS systems and Laser’s.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and perform manual labor type tasks.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with excavators, skid steers, and loaders.
  • Additional safety certifications (OSHA, etc.).
