With nearly12,000 employees across 65 offices, we execute projects in more than 150 countries worldwide.

Our operations are organized into seven regions:

Role Overview

We are conducting a global search for a Global Discipline Director of Completions. In this role, the GDD of Completions is accountable for establishing global best practices, governance, and technical excellence across all stages of project completions (Stage 1 to Stage 5). The role places strong emphasis on Stage 1 (S1) completions and turnover from Construction to Commissioning, as well as turnover from the project entity to owners/operations.

A critical expectation is to champion the completions discipline across the organization, ensuring project teams are fully supported in applying best practices, maturing their completions strategies, and successfully progressing through each stage of the completions lifecycle. The GDD is responsible for driving strong alignment between Construction and Commissioning and establishing processes that create a "pull effect" from Commissioning on Construction, improving work sequencing, mechanical completion predictability, and overall project delivery schedule.

Additionally, the GDD of Completions ensures that completions processes are fully integrated with operational readiness, enabling seamless transition to operations, high-quality turnover, and effective asset start-up.

We are looking for professionals who think and act like owners, thrive on creating new approaches and improving processes, and can bridge technical execution with strategic foresight to deliver exceptional client value. Most importantly, you will inspire, develop and lead our teams with a focus on developing future great completions professionals, sustaining the growth of our expertise for decades to come.

Candidates must be willing to travel to meet teams and clients including remote project sites as required, and participate in site assignments, sometimes requiring fly-in/fly-out arrangements for periods of time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Define and lead the global strategy for completions excellence across Stage 1 through Stage 5, driving standardization and consistency across all regions and projects.
    • Establish and promote global best practices for S1 completions, construction-to-commissioning turnover, and final handover to operations.
    • Champion completions within the organization by strengthening its visibility, strategic importance, and cross-disciplinary integration.
    • Develop processes that create a commissioning-driven pull on construction, enabling early system readiness and accelerated project delivery.
    • Drive alignment between Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Operations to support end-to-end completions maturity.
  • Technical Excellence & Discipline Governance
    • Develop and maintain global standards, specifications, procedures, and tools for all completions stages.

  • Project Support
    • Support projects in completions planning, turnover sequencing, and readiness assessments.
    • Ensure projects receive hands-on guidance in applying best practices and progressing through Stages 1-5.
    • Conduct reviews to assess compliance, readiness, and risk levels, providing expert recommendations.
    • Support the construction team with alignment with construction work packaging (CWP) strategies that reflect commissioning priorities and system readiness goals.
    • Travel to remote sites when required, including fly-in/fly-out assignments if required.
  • Integration with Operational Readiness
    • Ensure completions processes directly support operational readiness requirements, including data, documentation, training, maintenance planning, and operational acceptance criteria.
    • Provide guidelines to systematically attain alignment between completion milestones and operations' needs on all Hatch's projects to ensure full readiness for safe and efficient startup.
  • Digital & Data Leadership
    • Responsible for Hatch's completions system (iPasCS) as well as the team administrating the tool.
    • Responsible for Hatch's global strategy and governance for digital completions systems and ensure integration with project data environments.
  • People Leadership & Talent Development
    • Develop and maintain competency frameworks, training programs, and capability-building initiatives.
    • Mentor completions teams members and overall project teams in best practices, completions requirements and what part they play in the overall picture.
    • Promote a culture where completions excellence is recognized as a critical driver of predictable, safe, and efficient project execution.
  • Stakeholder & Client Engagement
