Job description

Industrial Boiler Mechanic

C&C Boiler Sales & Service, Inc. is currently seeking a skilled and safety-minded Industrial Boiler Mechanic with experience in boiler system installation, welding, refractory repair, and industrial mechanical work. The ideal candidate will work both in our shop and on customer job sites, performing installation, fabrication, pipefitting, boiler re-tubing, refractory replacement, and welding. This is a hands-on, field-based position that requires strong technical ability, mechanical problem-solving, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, align, and secure packaged boilers, deaerators, economizers, and other pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and ASME/NBIC codes.
  • Perform field and shop welding (SMAW, MIG, TIG) on piping systems and pressure vessels. Fabricate skids, brackets, supports, and pipe systems.
  • Remove and replace boiler tubes, roll and weld new tubes, and conduct hydrostatic testing.
  • Inspect, remove, and install refractory materials in boilers and related equipment; patch, cast, and cure refractory linings to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and safety.
  • Assemble and install pipe systems, supports, valves, and fittings using blueprints and isometric/technical drawings.
  • Assist with or perform ASME/NB repair and alteration projects in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Participate in OSHA-mandated safety training and adhere to internal and client-specific safety protocols.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while contributing to team goals and cross-functional field operations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in welding/fitting and/or boiler/industrial mechanical work
  • Proficient in welding and pipefitting; ability to pass weld tests (welding certifications strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of boiler system components (burners, controls, valves, pumps, expansion tanks, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and safety documentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., work on ladders/scaffolding, and in confined or non-climate-controlled spaces
  • Must complete OSHA 10 or 30 and pass a 10-panel drug screen
  • Position requires occasional out-of-town travel and overnight stays
