Job Title: Industrial ElectricianJob Description

This role offers a hands-on opportunity for a Journeyman Electrician to work in an underground mining environment, focusing on electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of industrial equipment. You will apply your electrical expertise to support safe and reliable operations, while learning the unique requirements of the mining industry and working with high voltage systems and complex controls.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on industrial electrical systems and equipment in an underground mining environment.
  • Install, repair, and maintain motors, sensors, transformers, speed switches, and related electrical components.
  • Work with high voltage equipment up to 12,000 volts, ensuring safe and compliant procedures at all times.
  • Install, route, and terminate conduit and cable according to electrical codes and site standards.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to diagnose issues and plan work effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using test equipment, diagnostic tools, and systematic problem-solving methods.
  • Perform electrical maintenance tasks, including inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance, within an industrial environment.
  • Work with inline splices, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other control equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Replace and troubleshoot sensors, motors, and speed switches to support continuous and reliable equipment performance.
  • Support and maintain ethernet-connected devices and systems as they relate to electrical equipment and controls.
  • Follow established safety procedures and mining site protocols while working underground.
  • Document work performed, maintain accurate records, and communicate findings and recommendations to the team.
Essential Skills
  • Journeyman electrician card or certification (preferred).
  • At least 2+ years of experience working on electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment.
  • At least 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing high voltage equipment up to 12,000 volts.
  • At least 2+ years of electrical maintenance experience within an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including systematic diagnosis and resolution of faults.
  • Hands-on experience working with transformers, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Experience with inline splices and related cable repair techniques.
  • Experience working with variable frequency drives (VFDs), including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to replace and troubleshoot sensors, motors, and speed switches.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Experience with conduit installation and cable routing in industrial settings.
  • Familiarity with ethernet-connected electrical devices and systems.
  • Comfort working with high voltage systems and adherence to strict safety practices.
  • Willingness and ability to work in an underground mining environment.
