Job description

As a Team Lead on our Pressure Calibration team, you will own the daily execution and performance of your production area across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (SQDIP). You are responsible for maintaining flow to schedule, protecting throughput, enforcing standard work, and developing high-performing operators. This role leads daily management, drives problem solving at the gemba, and ensures issues are identified, owned, and resolved with sustainable countermeasures.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Safety, 5S, and Daily Management: proactively resolve at least one safety issue per week; perform weekly Kamishibai audits; ensure PPE/ESD compliance; maintain 5S standards; execute Tier 1 and support Tier 2 escalation
  • Ensure work environment compliance by identifying and correcting safety risks, expired chemicals, and out-of-calibration equipment, and ensuring all required training is completed.
  • Deliver production targets: achieve 95% on-time delivery and meet the factory master schedule through effective labor and resource planning.
  • Own flow and execution: enforce one-piece flow, eliminate batching, and align personnel, machines, and materials to protect throughput.
  • Drive labor productivity: achieve 100% application, analyze misses across people, machine, and materials, and improve productivity by 3%.
  • Lead daily management and problem solving: maintain accurate SQDIP tracking, escalate issues with clear ownership, and resolve problems using structured root cause methods and countermeasures.
  • Ensure adherence to standard work, QMS, and quality standards; lead initial problem triage and coach operators on quality expectations.
  • Maintain inventory integrity: ensure cycle count completion, resolve discrepancies, and execute FMS standards including Kanban, material presentation, and stock rotation.
  • Identify and escalate material shortages and execution risks proactively to support uninterrupted production.
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen activities to drive measurable improvements in SQDIP performance.
  • Act as the communication conduit between operators, engineering, materials, and leadership to remove barriers and improve execution.
  • Act as first responder for safety incidents and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree or related machine certifications (High School graduate or equivalent required).
  • 3-5 years with dynamically increasing responsibilities in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Collaboration abilities with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Management.
  • Resourceful in problem solving and process improvements.
  • Manual dexterity and mechanical proficiency.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Self-Starter with excellent organizational skills.
  • Skilled with computer software such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Ensure proper delivery of all completed parts are timely and accurate.
